Lean manufacturing training/approach was a very detailed and eye opening experience. I have had training in the past and we have worked on 6S at the plant, but we have never reached the level of detail that needs to be done to truly get Lean off the ground and sustained. I have passed along all of the training sessions with my team and we are starting down the Lean journey again. We are taking a different approach this time and are trying to model the ideas/stories/experience Diego shared. We have started with a “pilot” area and are letting all the other departments in the plant look at the pilot area so they can begin to pattern their areas off of the pilot. I also learned it is ok for this to be a journey, it isn’t a quick fix and in order to sustain you need to take your time and make sure your implementation is done correctly and also for lean to work you need the buy in from your entire team.
